We ask that each alumnus make the commitment to support our alumni association initiatives. You can do this by paying to the alumni association $10 per month or $120 for the year. Participating in giving to the Scholarship Fund will also count toward your class in the Fisk to Fifty Campaign to improved the overall alumni giving rate percentage. We are counting on you !

Now in existence for over 50 years, Los Angeles Alumni Association continues to strive to expand its programs and events to our alumni and current Fisk students. We hope that you will to take part in the fundraising events that we are planning this year and experience firsthand the pride we take in supporting our cause.

It is our mission to strengthen fellowship among Los Angeles area alumni, promote student recruitment, and support the fundraising goals of Fisk University. In order to meet our mission and provide scholarships to students, we rely on the generosity of alumni and without your assistance we wouldn’t be able to provide student scholarships each year.

The Alumni Association’s Executive Board and Committee Chairs met on February 10, 2019. After reports were given, strategies were discussed in order to raise funds to support the Elroy Bond Scholarship Fund. This fund supports the $2,500 grant given per year to a California student matriculating at Fisk.

The Board and Committee Chairs approved a fundraising proposal that will support the following:

· Scholarship Fund – $70
· Dues/Operating cost – $50

Home Depot’s annual HBCU Campus Improvement Grant Program is back! Support Fisk’s effort to win by voting on the site (Fisk is listed in “Cluster 3”) or using the hashtag #Fisk_RYS19 on any of your public social media posts. The contest ends April 14th.

Since 2009, The Home Depot’s Retool Your School Campus Improvement Grant Program has invested more than $2 million dollars to update, upgrade, and uplift HBCU campuses. Ten years later, the Program is deepening its commitment to HBCUs by awarding the highest amount in the Program’s history, $500,000 total in campus improvement grants to 10 winning schools – celebrating the past and future success of the Retool Your School Program and our country’s HBCUs
